5 Social Media Marketing Mistakes

By Andy Lockhart

I am a marketer and social media consultant passionate about helping people development themselves and their business. I believe everybody has it in them to succeed at their passion regardless if that is through a Direct Sales Opportunity or a brick and mortar business. Either way I love to see people be successful and I like to take the mystery out of the social media and getting discovered on the internet.

What I love about this is that it’s simple. I tell people constantly use social media and integrate that way you don’t have to post over and over again. But some feel like it’s not necessary or that they don’t have time.
I don’t know why, but I don’t use Google plus as I should are you finding this very useful for you business? I only use the online on air hangouts for my talk show.

Great post Andy. I do remove the links on Facebook most of the time but I always forget about hashtags on Twitter as have never really understood how to use them. Thanks for the advice.

Good post. I agree with most of your points 🙂 The first one I don’t completely agree with. I think you should show links to your social media profiles on your website, and you should definitely have your website link on your social media profiles. But connecting things so they post automatically can cause issues. 🙂 I have chosen to take that task and make it a bit more manual. I have had things post in the past that I did not want posted, simply because things were all linked together. Also different platforms have different options/rules/formatting so for example connecting Twitter to Facebook can cause things to post on Facebook that are not relevant (Like RT’s).

I do see your reasoning behind #1, I have just chosen to do it differently 🙂

Having things linked is important as it helps with SEO, when you do a post you do not need to leave the link in the post as Facebook and Googl+ for that matter pulls the info in to give a clickable link. End of the day it is optional.
