Instaquote Featured Image

You have seen all those fancy pictures with quotes and text on, well here is a simple way to create those images using an app called Instaquote.

Just down load it to your Android on iphone and away you go.

If you haven’t used Instagram before you might want to grab my Getting Started Guide to help you get going.

So what does Instaquote do?

Instaquote simply allows you to add Text to any photo you have on your phone.  You can make any quote standout by adding a great image behind it.

Then you can share your thoughts with the world.

What Instaquote won’t do?

It won’t allow you to rotate the text add fancy stickers to the image.  It is just designed to allow you to add great images to quotes or other sorts of messages you want to share.

How do You use Instaquote?

Simple, download the app.

Start the app, double tap and start typing.

For the rest watch the video, it is a simple to use App and the video will explain the rest.

As with most apps Instaquote is simple to use and you can create awesome looking quotes in seconds.

Sharing with Instaquote

Where can I share my images?

Instaquote Sharing

Instaquote is obviously written for sharing your images and quotes on Instagram but as you can see you can share to Facebook and Twitter as well.

But more than just Facebook and Twitter, Instaquote allows you to save your images to your camera roll, from there you can use them anywhere you like.

The other feature which is awesome, is sharing to “other apps”.

If you watched the video you will see Instaquote picks up on other apps you have on your phone and allows you to share your images with those apps.

Some of the apps I share with are:

  • Flickr
  • Linkedin
  • Google+
  • Evernote
  • iCloud Photo Sharing

Finally, on the sharing front, if you liked your image so much you can save it as your phone background.

Really, the sharing options are endless, all just depends what you have loaded on your phone.

What can you do with Crowdfire?

You can use Crowdfire to help you manage your Instagram account to do the following:

  • Build your following by finding relevant users to follow using the “Copy Followers” feature.  This feature, is worth it in it’s own right.  If I can find people interested in the niche I want to market too then I have a much greater chance of success.
  • Manage your account by finding inactive users and your unfollowers.
  • Manage and monitor your recent followers and unfollowers.
  • Understand your relationship to another Instagram account using FriendCheck allows you to easily check your connection to any other Instagram user.

Do you know your Instagram Statistics?

Instagram Statistics Snapshot

Lies, damned lies, and Instagram statistics? The original quote was possibly associated with Mark Twain but nobody is really claiming it.  He didn’t know about Instagram of course.

Got your attention? If you are using social media you need to know how well your postings are working and Instagram is no different to any other platform.

Iconosquare for your Instagram Statistics

Native Instagram really does not provide you with the statistics you can use to see how well your posts are working.

But not to worry there is a product called Iconosquare that not only helps you manage your Instagram account but helps you see what is going on by delivering a whole host of Instagram Statistics.

Instagram Statistics - Home Page

Above shows my home feed via Iconosquare.  There is a lot you can do with Iconosquare and this article is just going to give you a taster.  You can get a free account and just login using your Instagram account details.

[youtube_sc url=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1biitPTFSc” title=”Instagram%20Statistics,%20are%20you%20posting%20at%20the%20right%20time?”]

I hope you respond to comments you receive!

Iconosquare helps you with this by providing you with the statistics that brakes this down.

In my top posts based on number of comments I had Ray Higdon who is an amazing marketer, speaker and training.  You can always learn a ton from this guy.

The other was a post from my good friend Nicole Hanchi who is always posting great content, go check out her Instagram feed by clicking her name above.

5 Big Mistakes on Instagram

This5 Big Mistakes on Instagram

This article gives you 5 Big Mistakes on Instagram that are often made.

Instagram achieves one of the highest engagements rates of all the social media channels but these are some of the things you really shouldn’t do.

Of course this assumes you want to market on Instagram and are not just using to post photo’s of the dog.

Mistakes on Instagram

This list of Mistakes on Instagram is not exhaustive but I do consider them to be the BIG ones.  So read on.

Lets start at the beginning.

Use a Meaningful Username

If you are serious about marketing using Instagram you need a username that is meaning full like your name or your business name if you can get it.  You want it to be easy to find.  Always a good suggestion is to use your Twitter username.  Mine is slightly different as I could get the same username.

My twitter handle is @andrewrlockhart

and my Instagram username is @andyrlockhart

Don’t Set your account to private

On Instagram you can set your account to be private.  If you are going to market on Instagram your account must be public or else nobody is going to see your stuff!

Post Photos One After AnotherThis5 Big Mistakes on Instagram

I have heard one school of thought that says you shouldn’t post more than once a day.  That is simply not true.

When you post you need to leave time for your photo or video to be seen and interacted with.  If you want more engagement you need to leave at least an hour or so between posts.

Ignoring Your Followers Comments

You ignore your followers comments at your peril.

You ignore the comments you are ignoring your business.

As people comment on your posts you need to respond and grow the dialogue.  This is all about building the know like and trust factor.

When you do respond make sure you use @theirusername in the comment so they see you have responded in their notifications.

This will definitely help grow your engagement.

Buying Followers

Just like any social media channel, buying followers is a disaster.  You will get comments on your photo’s of people offering you followers for a price.  Don’t go there!

Spend your time building a following of people who will be interested in what you have to say.  Then you will get people who will Like and Comment on your photos.

Which leads to building that all important relationship.

Over to you

I hope you found this article on 5 Big Mistakes on Instagram useful and make sure you don’t ignore them.

Please don’t buy followers!

Review of the Instagram Layout App

Instagram Layout App

I started using the Instagram Layout App recently and thought it was a great simple to use App.  It is great to build those collage style photos and allows you to do it in seconds.

Instagram Layout App

Below is how the App looks on your phone, well on an iPhone anyway.  I used my kids trip to the beach yesterday as the example for this post.

Instagram Layout App

To use the Instagram Layout App you simply select the photos you want to use or take new ones as the App has access to the camera as well.  You can put your collage together in seconds.

Instagram Layout App

I picked 4 from the trip to the beach.  Watch the video below you can see how easy it is to pick different formats and drag the pictures around.  Once you have the collage the way you want it to look you can still play around with the mirror and flipping functions that layout provides.

Over To you – What do you think of the Instagram Layout App

I short post but I hope you found value in it.

Let me know what you think?

Have you used the Instagram Layout App?  Or do you prefer one of the many other Apps out there?

Writing Getting Over the Fear

Writing Getting Over the Fear

Writing getting over the fear – that is most people’s problem when they start a blog or even contemplate starting a blog.

My Own Experience of Writing Getting Over the Fear

I myself am not a good writer by many standards, just past English at school and in my first job my minutes of meetings were described as “Terse”.

Important point is it never stop me!

I just keep putting pen to paper as they say and produce content, some good, some bad and alot where the grammar sucks!

To give you some inspiration regardless if you are new to blogging or a seasoned pro.

I’m not a writer

This is the first problem new bloggers confront themselves with.  Here is quote form Ernest Hemingway

It’s none of their business that you have to learn to write.

Let them think you were born that way

Next on the list is:

I Haven’t Written Since College or School

Again to give you some inspiration that school or college is not a requirement to be a good writer!  here is a quote from Flannery O’Connor

Everywhere I go I’m asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don’t stifle enough of them. There’s many a best-seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher

The next one I hear all the time regardless of if it has to do with writing or not.

I’m not good enough

Here is a quote from Neil Gaiman. easy eh? (click to tweet)

This is how you do it: You sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until it’s done. It’s that easy, and that hard

Writing takes me forever

Writing Getting Over the FearDoes writing take you forever? Or do you just need inspiration?  Here is some great advice from Stephen King (click to tweet)

If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all

others: Read a lot and write a lot.

The next one is a classic

I don’t have anything to say

You have value in being you!  Just be open, be you and put your thoughts to paper, or computer which ever is easiest!  Love this quote from J.D. Salinger

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it.

I always get writers block

This is a hard one, but you don’t have to start with the novel.  Start with a few quotes, some ideas, even the basis of a story line?  Speaking of quotes, here is another Stephen King one for you. (click to tweet)

The scariest moment is always just before you start.

Words are hard for me

Me too, just start writing something anything.  It gets you started, after all you can always come back and change them, delete them or start over.  Even easier with a computer.  To some this up I will let William Faulkner speak

Get it down. Take chances. It may be bad, but it’s the only way you can do anything really good.

 Over To You

This post on Writing Getting Over the Fear was inspired by something I read on Hubspot.  If you struggle with your blog, go read a few articles throw some quotes together and see what comes of it!

There is NO Plan B

There is No Plan B

I was recently talking to a friend about people having a Plan B.  You are always hearing about having your Plan B.  In fact I think every Network Marketing company talks about having a Plan B.

He pointed out something to me

There is NO Plan B

There is no Plan B if you expect to reach your potential and become an elite player, living an extraordinary life. Plan B is a Backup Plan putting you in perpetual Backup Mode.
You won’t push through the obstacles and challenges when you know you have a Backup Plan. You will never be “All In”, fully committed to The Plan. To fly at your potential altitude, you must scrap all references to Plan B.
Jim Gardner

This really bought something home to me, if you truly want to succeed you need to have your goal in mind and go for it.

Now your goal doesn’t have to be restricted to just one thing.  Your goals and hence your Plan is a mixture of personal and professional goals.

If you have a Plan B or what you are calling a Plan B, see how you can weave that Plan B into your Plan A and create your Master Plan.

Malcolm Gladwell said you need to spend 10,000 hours studying your trade to become an expert,  regardless of your chosen profession.  In his book he gives plenty of examples.  The point being if you are working on something as a “Plan B” and are focusing very little energy on it you will never become an expert.

Work from home opportunities are always sold as “Plan B” when really they are just another part of your Master Plan.  You can learn new skills, earn while you learn and as you become successful you can adapt your Master Plan and maybe your Work from Home Opportunity becomes your primary income.

The reason it is a Plan B is it is another source of income, ideally you don’t want to be dependent on one source of income, if that goes away you have a problem.  Having multiple sources of income is always a good idea, just like when you invest your money you spread it across different investments to reduce the risk of a problem if one investment goes bad.

If you are looking for a way to achieve Multiple Streams of Income as part of your Master Plan you should check out Networking Superstars.

How ever your Master Plan unfolds remember to make sure it is balanced between your work and personal life.  Make sure you spend enough time with the others who are important in your life, your spouse, the kids, the extended family or the dog as examples.

I hope you have enjoyed this article, what are your thoughts on a Plan A v Plan B, leave me a comment.  If you enjoyed the article please share it on your Social Media channels.
